SYNOPSIS : This is the story of my father Professor Adam Kuper's journey to become an anthropologist.
The film's central themes are of witchcraft and power in Southern Africa. Traversing history, and told through footage of Swaziland in the 1960s, his own photographs as part of his doctoral research in the Kalahari.
The film also uses additional found sound and footage to tell an African story with universal themes. Included is a folk tale, 'the Lion on the Path' told and sung by the late Hugh Tracey.
